Digimon World: Next Order debut trailer shows bits of gameplay

Bandai Namco released the first trailer for the recently announced PlayStation Vita game Digimon World: Next Order.

The brief trailer shows snippets of exploration and combat gameplay in the next entry in the Digimon World RPG franchise. You play as Takuto, a high school senior who ventures to the Digital World and teams up with Agumon and Gabumon.

Digimon World: Next Order has not been announced for the West. The previous Digimon game, Digimon Story: Cyber Sleuth, launches in 2016 for North America and Europe on the PS4 and PS Vita.


On a side note, today, August 1, is known as “Odaiba Day” or Odaiba Memorial Day” and commemorates the date the DigiDestined children Tai, Matt, Sora, Joe, Mimi, Izzy, and T.K. traveled to the Digital World in the original Digimon anime television series.

A new six-part film series named Digimon Adventure tri. stars the original DigiDestined and takes place six years after the end of season one. A trailer for Chapter 1 “Reunion,” along with a new poster visual debuted today in honor of Odaiba Day. The first film will premiere in Japan later this year.
