Uncharted 4 still has a few bugs that need ironing out

Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End makes its eagerly-anticipated debut on PlayStation 4 in late April, but developer Naughty Dog has still got its hands busy polishing Nathan Drake’s final adventure in the final few months before release.

Writing on Twitter, the game’s Lead Programmer, Christian Gyrling, revealed that he’s still busy finding and squashing a variety of bugs before the action-adventure sequel hits gold status. These include animation and loading bugs among others.

Uncharted 4 is due out exclusively on PS4 in the U.S. on April 26 and in the U.K. on April 29. The game takes place three years after the events of Uncharted 3: Drake’s Deception, and sees Nate coming out of retirement as a fortune hunter to track down a legendary pirate’s treasure in Madagascar.

However, his adventure not only puts a strain on his relationship with wife Elena, but also reunites him with his long-lost brother, Sam, who was thought to have perished during an earlier adventure. Drake once again teams up with his mentor and father figure, Victor ‘Sully’ Sullivan, as the pair embark on a globe-trotting journey that is set to push our hero to his limits.

The single-player campaign for Nate’s final outing has been beefed up considerably, featuring larger environments to explore, new CQC techniques, and refined climbing mechanics. Naughty Dog has also incorporated dialogue options, although has stressed that they won’t alter the story in the same way as seen in the Mass Effect series.

Uncharted 4 will also feature a complete multiplayer suite, which will include a host of new gameplay mechanics such as Mystical power-ups and AI-controller buddies. The online mode will run at 900p/60fps.
