Ni No Kuni sales hit 1.4 million worldwide

Namco Bandai has announced that the Ni No Kuni franchise has moved 1.4 million copies globally since its inception in 2010.

The original Ni No Kuni was released on Nintendo DS in Japan, but failed to see the light of day in the U.S. and Europe.

PlayStation 3-exclusive follow-up Ni No Kuni: Wrath of the White Witch saw a Japanese release in 2011 before arriving in western regions earlier this year.

Olivier Comte, Namco Bandai Europe’s senior vice president, commented: “We are very proud to join our partner, LEVEL-5, to announce that the critically acclaimed role-playing game series, Ni no Kuni, has approximately reached 1.4 million units sold worldwide.

“The franchise has been very well received in EMEA and as a result of its quality, has reached an amazing number of sales for a JRPG.”
