More details on the PlayStation Vita’s Japanese launch have started to trickle onto the web today, with MediaCreate confirming 300,000 software units were sold in the handheld’s launch weekend.
Sony’s new handheld itself shifted just under 325,000 units, as previously reported, meaning that’s a retail software attach rate of 0.92 titles per Vita (via Andriasang).
By comparison, the 3DS boasted a first week attach rate of 0.95, while PlayStation Portable had 1.06 for its first week. However, it’s worth noting that Vita’s attach rate is likely a lot higher due to the handheld’s digital downloads service.
