Sony has apparently narrowed down the European release date for PlayStation Vita to February/March 2012.
The console maker previously confirmed that the new handheld would launch in PAL regions in ‘early 2012,’ though didn’t go into any more details regarding the system’s release date.
However, according to a blurb on a Sony Computer Entertainment Europe (SCEE) newsletter (originally penned in Swedish, but translated by the chaps at NeoGAF), the device has been given a more specific release window.
It reads: “With its gorgeous screen, dual analog joysticks, innovative games and PlayStation Network interoperability the PlayStation Vita is an impressive package that has enthralled all who got to test it. PS Vita will be released in February / March 2012 in Europe, and has everything needed to revolutionize portable gaming. And now you can experience it yourself at GamesCom 2011 in Cologne, Germany.”
Sony will be showing Vita in full force at Gamescom this week, with the company due to host a press conference later today. PSU will be in attendance at the event, so stay tuned for all the latest info as it breaks.
