Last year at PAX East 2010, Jerry Holkins and Mike Krahulik revealed that Penny Arcade Adventures Episode 3 had been cancelled. Hothead had announced that they dropped the project due to time constraints, and that the studio was about to take on DeathSpank. It was decided that Penny Arcade Adventures was to be placed on hold indefinitely.
However, it has been today announced at PAX Prime that Zeboyd Games would be taking up the project, and seeing that the third installment in the On the Rain-Slick Precipice of Darkness series comes to fruition.
Episode 3 will be available in 2012, and brings with it many changes to the archetype of the previous two games. Sporting all new 16-bit graphics, side-vew combat, and new music, the next addition to Penny Arcade Adventures looks to separate itself from the first two episodes. Series protagonists Gabe and Tycho have been confirmed as playable characters.
Penny Arcade Adventures Episode 3 will be released in 2012, and while it is unknown what platforms the downloadable RPG will appear on, developer Zeboyd has stated that they are aiming to release their upcoming game on as many platforms as they can.
