VG247 has caught wind that UK-based developer Climax is apparently working on a remake of the original Silent Hill for PlayStation Portable and Wii.
Although the UK studio and Konami have refused to comment on the matter, a quick glance at Climax’s website confirms that the company is indeed busy coding away on a mysterious Wii/PSP project, along with a new game for PS3/Xbox 360.
Released on PlayStation in 1999, Silent Hill is a psychological horror romp where players must guide protagonist Harry Mason through the fog-bound streets of the cursed town in search of missing daughter while solving brain-teasing puzzles and fighting off an assortment of grotesque beasts.
Climax is no stranger to the long running franchise, having worked on the PSP/PS3 prequel Silent Hill: Origins. Stay tuned for more information on a possible SH1 remake as it breaks.
