Eidos Interactive has recently reserved the trademark Tomb Raider: Underworld, fuelling Internet speculation as to the possibility of it being the title to the next instalment in the Tomb Raider video game franchise.
According to reports, the title is said to feature heavily on the Mayan Calendar, focusing five days where the line between the mortal realm and the ‘Underworld’ realm becomes blurred, hence the game’s title.
Further details are unknown, although it was previously stated that a new title in the franchise would be available for major consoles some time in 2008.
Stay tuned for more information as it breaks.
