Sony has today announced that a new standalone home network entertainment hub named “nasne,” will be hitting Japan.
Featuring a built-in 500GB HDD, nasne will use the already-released (also Japan-only) PS3 software, torne, to watch and record both digital terrestrial and satellite television.
What’s more exciting is that it will be fully compatible with a multitude of Sony devices such as the PlayStation 3; PlayStation Vita, Experia smartphones, Sony tablets, and Vaio computers.
Priced at ¥16,980, nasne translates to about $210 USD, or £133. Sony has yet to announce this for western markets, however, Japanese consumers will be able to pick this up on July 19.
