Soul Calibur V dated, Ezio officially confirmed

Namco Bandai has announced that Soul Calibur V will be released in the U.S. on January 31, with a European launch following on February 3.

In addition, the Japanese giant also confirmed previous rumors that Assassin’s Creed II hero Ezio Auditore will feature as a playable character in the weapons-based brawler.

Fans will be pleased to know that ladies man Ezio will have plenty of tricks up his sleeves for use in combat, including the iconic Hidden Blade, Stiletto and Roman Longsword. Furthermore, he won’t be platform-exclusive either, appearing in both the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 versions of SCV.

Finally, Namco also lifted the wraps off a Collector’s Edition of the game, which features an art book, a ‘Making of’ DVD, original soundtrack and a DLC card that unlocks the Black Knight and Paladin armour sets.

Namco is keeping mum on the inclusion of any other guest characters for the time being, but we’ll be sure to keep you in the loop if we hear anything.
