Adventure reboot Tomb Raider will receive a “global, simultaneous release” later this year, developer Crystal Dynamics has confirmed.
Speaking in its latest podcast, the studio also revealed that development of the game, which sees Lara Croft fighting for survival on a mysterious island, has reached alpha stage.
In layman’s terms, this essentially means that Tomb Raider is in a complete, albeit rough playable state with a majority of content in place. This phase is expected to last for at least two months before entering beta stage.
Tomb Raider is due out on PlayStation 3, PC and Xbox 360 later this year.
