Watch Dogs on PS4 runs at 30fps, confirms Ubisoft

The PlayStation 4 and Xbox One versions of Watch Dogs will run at 30fps, publisher Ubisoft has confirmed.

Speaking to VideoGamer.com, Creative Director Jonathan Morin said, “Right now the frame rate we’re focusing on [is] a steady 30 [FPS], adding, “there’s always a balance, especially for open world between simulation and the rest.”

“I think for where we are, the most important thing is the steadiness and [ensuring] that it’s always capped the same so when you play it it feels right.”

Unfortunately, Morin couldn’t reveal whether next-generation versions of the hotly-anticipated sci-fi adventure would run at a native 720p or 1080p.

Watch Dogs is set in an open-world Chicago, and sees player character Aiden Pearce waging informational warfare on his enemies by hacking everything from phones to traffic lights. The game combines third-person shooting, driving and parkour-based platforming to create a high-octane adventure with a near-futuristic twist.

Watch Dogs is scheduled to ship on PS4 on November 29, with the PS3, PC, Xbox 360 and Wii U editions arriving on November 22.
