Wolfenstein: The New Order PS4 runs at 1080p, 60fps

MachineGames has confirmed that the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One versions of Wolfenstein: The New Order will run at a silky smooth 1080p/60fps.

Speaking during a Reddit AMA, Jens Matthies, the game’s Creative Director, said that the transition to new consoles was “a breeze” in comparison to the previous generation.

"Compared to the last console transition this one was a breeze," Matthies. "There are always tricky technical problems when developing games, but we have some amazingly skilled brains on those problems and I’m happy to report that Wolf will run with minimal visual disparity at 60fps/1080p on all platforms."

The fact the game has achieved visual parity for PS4 and Xbox One is a chance of pace, as there have been numerous titles over the past few months that have failed to hit the 1080p mark on Microsoft’s latest home console.

These include Call of Duty: Ghosts, Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag, Watch Dogs and Metal Gear Solid V: Ground Zeroes.

In fact, one studio claimed that achieving 1080p on Xbox One is harder than hitting the mark on PS4.

Wolfenstein: The New Order is scheduled to release for PS4, PS3, Xbox One, Xbox 360 and PC in late May.
