UPDATE: More stages have been revealed by 696ly, the Reddit user behind this leak, who seems to be using the "leak" watermark as a means to keep the info hidden until he/she sees fit. Check the new screens below, which are stages based on the Killzone, inFAMOUS, and Twisted Metal franchises, respectively. According to 696ly, the stage names are "Invasion","Alden’s Tower", and "Black Rock Stadium":
ORIGINAL STORY: The playable roster of PlayStation All-Stars Battle Royale is being kept under close watch by Sony and SuperBot Entertainment, but a leak that surfaced this evening might have spilled many of the beans early.
A Reddit user has come forth with images supposedly taken from the game, including camera shots of nine stages and several thumbnail images that appear to be character portraits. No source or credibility is given to the screens, so take the following with an extra grain of salt:
While it’s hard to make out what the first image contains, the latter three appear to be stages based on Sly Cooper, Loco Roco, and BioShock Infinite, respectively. The BioShock Infinite stage, allegedly called "Columbia", is especially interesting, as it would be the first appearance of a stage/franchise that is completely third-party (and, in fact, debuted on Xbox 360 first).
If you squint closely at the character portraits in the first image, you can make out fighters that haven’t been announced yet. These include Ratchet, Sir Daniel Fortesque (from MediEvil), Dante (from Ninja Theory’s DMC), Evil Cole, Sackboy, Raiden (from Metal Gear Solid 4), Nariko (from Heavenly Sword), and Spike (from Ape Escape).
Finally, a close look at the stage screenshots in the first image will net you a glimpse of the cargo plane from Uncharted 3 (center-left), and… well, we’re having trouble identifying the others. Let us know if you can make them out in the comments!
Character portraits are easy enough to fake, but the stage screens are another matter entirely. We’ll update you as soon as we hear more, but for now, remember that this is only speculation until we hear confirmation. In the meantime, sound off in the comments and tell us what you think of these new developments for Sony’s crossover brawler.
