Borderlands 2 will get day-one digital download on PSN

The latest chapter in Gearbox Software’s shoot-and-loot saga will be unleashed upon the world on September 18 – this Tuesday. If you’re the kind to gather your goods from PlayStation Network, you’re in luck: Borderlands 2 will be available as a day-one digital download.

The news broke via the official PlayStation Blogcast earlier this evening, where Sony revealed that the weekly PS Store update on Tuesday, September 18 will make Borderlands 2 available to all. Unfortunately, there is no pre-order option mentioned for access to the Borderlands 2 Premiere Club, but European gamers are reporting that Borderlands 2 is already up for pre-order on the EU PS Store. Hopefully, that means we’ll see a similar option appear in North America soon.

Are you excited to team up with friends for another cel-shaded lootfest? Sound off in the comments, and look forward to PSU’s forthcoming review.

Thanks, IGN.
