The long-rumored Batman: Arkham Origins has been officially unveiled in the upcoming May edition of Game Informer magazine.
The publication’s website has teased the magazine’s front cover, depicting the Caped Crusader while the rear cover features the assassin Deathstroke.
As expected, Origins takes place before the events of both Arkham Asylum and Arkham City, and sees Batman encountering many of the series’ iconic supervillains for the first time.
Warner Bros. Games Montreal has been given the development reins for this latest entry, taking over from Rocksteady Studios. The company will utilize the previous developer’s custom Unreal engine in order to replicate the classic Arkham look and style.
More information is expected soon, so keep your eyes peeled for the full scoop from Game Informer whenever we get our mitts on it.
Batman: Arkham Origins is due out on October 25 for PlayStation 3, PC, Xbox 360 and Wii U.
If that wasn’t enough to satisfy salivating Bat-fanatics, then this next news piece surely will. In addition to Origins, developer Armature Studio is working on a new handheld title known as Batman: Arkham Origins Blackgate.
Due out on PlayStation Vita and 3DS alongside its console cousin, Blackgate is set after Origins and takes the form of a 2.5D action-adventure title, and offers a completely separate experience from WB Montreal’s effort.
