The classic Genesis platformer Castle of Illusion Starring Mickey Mouse is getting a high-definition makeover this summer, SEGA has announced.
Due out on PlayStation Network, PC and Xbox LIVE Arcade, Castle of Illusion will be completely remade from the ground up with all-new visuals and gameplay mechanics.
The story, however, remains untouched; gamers will still help guide Mickey through the eponymous castle in an effort to save Minnie Mouse from the witch Mizrabel.
SEGA of America’s vice president of Digital Business, Chris Olson, commented: “The original Castle of Illusion was tremendously entertaining and has a well-deserved reputation as a SEGA classic. Castle of Illusion Starring Mickey Mouse brings this great game to a new generation.”

Castle of Illusion will be released globally in summer 2013.
