Those of you hoping to acquire Grand Theft Auto V ahead of its September 17 release are fresh out of luck: Rockstar has ensured retailers won’t dispatch pre-orders until September 16.
As such, this means orders will arrive on launch day only, and in some cases, may arrive later than that. No early copies sadly, folks.
U.K. retail giant GAME confirmed in an email (via VideoGamer) that processing for GTA V pre-ordes will commence early, ensuring items are shipped on September 16. Presumably, this will ensure its customers will receive the hotly-anticipated crime sequel on launch day.
"GTA V is released on 17th September and Rockstar, who publish it, have worked very hard to make it the biggest gaming launch ever," said the company.
"They have requested that no UK retailer despatch GTA V before the 16th September and GAME, along with all reputable retailers, will respect this request."
GTA V is due out on PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360. The game boasts the largest game environment ever conceived in a Rockstar title, and introduces three playable protagonists to the folk – Franklin, Michael and Trevor.
In addition, GTA V will also feature a full-fledged multiplayer component known as Grand Theft Auto Online. This allows gamers to team up and complete objectives, customize their own apartment, make their own death matches and much more. GTA Online will launch in early October.
