Sony has released a nostalgia-filled video titled ‘For The Players Since 1995’ in preparation for the impending launch of PlayStation 4 next month.
According to the platform holder, the video aims to ‘represent what PlayStation has meant to Britain since 1995.’
True to form, the footage recreates gaming in the years 1995, 2000, 2007, and 2013 with snippets of classic PlayStation titles played on their original hardware, and captures the look and feel of each era right down to the 90s hairstyles and chunky TV sets.
Speaking as someone who grew up in the 90s with the original PlayStation, I have to say Sony absolutely nailed this video spot on. I’m sure anyone of a similar age will definitely be smacked in the face by a nostalgic tidal wave.
