Destiny dev reassures players ‘it’s the biggest game we’ve made’

The developer behind the hotly anticipated first-person shooter Destiny has moved to quell fears that the game will be lacking in content, after it emerged the title will have only one area to explore per planet.

Fans have already got a taste of Destiny’s locations during the recent beta session, which offered a peak at Earth’s post-apocalyptic Russia setting, as well as Mars, the Moon, and Venus.

However, fans expressed their disappointment at the lack of areas for each planet, but Bungie assures us that there’s still plenty of content under the hood to enjoy.

“Destiny’s pretty big,” said spokesperson Eric Osborne, in a post on NeoGAF. “It’s the biggest game that we’ve ever made, by far, and we’re sort of known for making games that you can play for months, years, and even decades if you’re a little bit… dedicated.”

Osborne also spoke reassuringly on the planned expansion packs for Destiny:

“We think that we did a decent job supporting Halo, but we were only ever able to cater to the competitive set,” he said. “Destiny is philosophically built to support every type of player, and all modes with ongoing activities and events."

Destiny is scheduled to ship for PlayStation 4, PlayStation 3, PC, Xbox One, and Xbox 360 in early September.
