We don’t know about you, but we love a bit of Destiny Crucible action. In fact, we’d go so far as to say that Bungie’s shared-world shooter packs one of the most compelling multiplayer offerings to date, featuring a host of gorgeous maps backed up by a diverse weapons set and silky-smooth combat. It doesn’t matter if you’re duffing up foes as a meaty Titan, sniping people under camouflage as a stealthy Hunter or wielding space magic as the mighty Warlock; there’s something for everyone in Destiny’s PvP landscape, and it has only gotten better with time.
With House of Wolves now on the loose, things have improved markedly thanks to the addition of a host of new weapons and stages brought into the mix. And it got us thinking; aside from actually winning a match, what brings a smile to our face more than anything? Landing those sweet kills, that’s what.
So, in the spirit of good fun, here’s seven of Destiny’s most satisfying PvP kills.

The Sniper Rifle headshot
An oldie but goodie, the sniper rifle headshot kill is likely to resonate with first-person shooter aficionados going back to the early days of online multiplayer battles. Being a sniper isn’t particularly interesting, as it usually requires you to sit back and lie in wait for your victim to venture into your crosshair, avoiding the chaos of a frantic firefight. Still, it’s all worth it when you target leaves themselves vulnerable, allowing you to drop them like a sack of spuds with a well-placed shot between the eyes. Boom, dead, celebrate!
The close-quarters Shotgun blast
Ever wonder why so many Destiny players lurk behind corners with their trusty boomstick? That’s because it’s an effective way of dispatching unwary foes with a single blast as they wander into view. Arm yourself with a Shotgun in Destiny, and up close, there’s pretty much nothing your opponent can do but prepare to hammer the respawn button; Shotguns are lethal, and guarantee a one-hit kill in close quarters. If you’re rocking something like Universal Remote, Invective or Two Two the Morgue, you can rake in the kills like there’s no tomorrow. Nothing beats waiting behind a corner and blasting your unsuspecting foe point-blank in the chest and knocking them on their arse.
Stick around, bub!
Any Hunter player will know that it’s not always a firearm that wins the fight, but your trusty knife. Yep, one of Destiny’s most satisfying kills has to be when you’re softening up your opponent with a few rounds before flicking a knife at them from several meters away, only for it to stab them in the head. Not only do you save ammo, but if you do happen to find yourself completely dry, why waste time retreating and reload? Just hit R1 and the throwing knife can more than often save your life. It also looks great and is particularly hilarious if you happen to bite the bullet just after tossing your lethal blade, only for it to nail your killer from beyond the grave. “Stick around!”
Heavy Ammo denial
Rocket Launchers and Machine-Guns can very quickly turn the tide of battle, so you’ll want to deny your opponents the heavy ammo drops every chance you get. More than often, there’s a manic race to the ammo’s drop location from both teams, leading to some quick skirmishes—and that’s where things can get fun. We’ve lost count of the number of times an enemy has camped down by the heavy ammo, only for us to swoop in and put them down in a hail of bullets, before scooping up the deadly rounds for ouselves. Yes, it’s a simple tactic, but very few things can prove more satisfying in a heated Crucible battle.

Nailing a top player
The Enforcer achievement is something that every Guardian seeks to nail, and there’s a good reason why: to get it, you have to dispatch the opposing team’s top player. In other words, it’s the bloke who has been killing your team over and over again, and has the kill spree to prove it. As such, there’s nothing more satisfying than popping a cap in the leader’s forehead, blowing them up with a well-placed grenade or obliterating them with your trusty Rocket Launcher. Whatever method of elimination you choose, nailing a top player is worth a pat on the back and a personal victory for any Guardian.
Collateral Damage
Grenades are a great way of thinning the flock, so to speak, and allow you to deal damage at a relatively safe distance. Just lob your chosen grenade into a pack of enemies, and let the fireworks commence. It’s not that easy to do, mind, as your adversaries will do their best to avoid the blast radius, so it’s best to chuck it from behind or in choke points where there’s little room to maneuver. While nailing a single baddie is satisfying enough, it’s especially rewarding when you score a Double or even a Triple-Down with your efforts. Why get your hands grubby when one grenade can take down multiple adversaries? Use them wisely, young Guardian.
Super kills are super satisfying
We couldn’t have an article like this without giving the nod to those uber-satisfying super moves. It doesn’t matter whether you’re capping baddies with the Hunter’s Golden Gun, obliterating foes with the Titan’s Fist of Havoc or vapourising enemies with the Warlock’s Void super, these moves will put a smile on your face regardless of your chosen Guardian class. Use them wisely on as many enemies as possible and you will see your team’s score skyrocket!
