E3 2015 Awards: Best Graphics

E3 2015 is over for another year, and what a show it’s been. As we pack our bags and head back home we’re left with a tough decision: which games deserve our coveted awards this year?

Winner: Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End

What you saw of Uncharted 4 at Sony’s press conference is only the half of it. Behind the scenes, Sony was showing off a further 10 minutes gameplay demo with an incredible action scene that not only got our heart’s racing, but looked magnificent.

We’ve seen in previous games in the series that Naughty Dog knows how to push the graphical power of PlayStation consoles, and in Uncharted 4 we’re going to see the series hit another level. Watching the demo was pretty like sitting in the theatre watching a movie, yet this wasn’t CGI cut-scenes but real-time footage that we’ll be playing when the game launches next year.

E3 was full of great-looking titles this year, but Uncharted 4 blew us away. With Naughty Dog’s history with PlayStation consoles and the graphical powerhouses that it’s already produced, plus our brief demo to see the level of detail that it’s throwing at its next big adventure, Uncharted 4 looks more than ready to set a graphical benchmark on PS4 that will be hard to surpass.

Honourable Mention: Horizon: Zero Dawn
