IO Interactive has blown the lid off a new 007: First Light trailer, which takes a very cinematic approach by showcasing various story sequences punctuated by action-packed gameplay segments.

007 First Light is an origins story that takes inspiration from both the James Bond movies and the novels penned by Ian Fleming. As such, the game follows a 26-year-old James Bond, played by Patrick Gibson, who is serving as an inexperienced MI6 agent, who is on a mission to earn his 00 status. The game will feature a number of iconic characters from the series, including M, Q, and Miss Moneypenny, while gameplay is a combination of stealth and gunplay, channelling Bond’s unique skillset.
IO Interactive’s Bond adventure is the first proper video game entry based on the British super spy since 2012’s 007 Legends. 007 First Light launches on May 27, 2026 for PS5, PC, Nintendo Switch, and Xbox Series X/S.
