Activision has lifted the wraps off 007 Legends, an all-new James Bond actioner for PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360.
Developed by Eurocom, the same studio responsible for last year’s GoldenEye 007: Reloaded, Legends will take six classic Bond films and stitch them together with a unique, overarching narrative – concluding with this year’s Skyfall.
Gamers will have the chance to step into Bond’s tux and wield start-of-the-art gadgets and weaponry, including the Mi6 agent’s iconic Walther PPK handgun. Expect to jet off to a variety of lush locations while battling multiple villains and brushing shoulders with plenty of stunning Bond girls.
Activision Publishing’s executive vice president, David Oxford, commented: "To honour 50 years of the world’s top secret agent, 007 Legends offers a collection of his most famed moments in the smartest and most treacherous Bond game yet,"
“Creating a video game storyline that ties together six popular, yet very different, Bond movie narratives can be challenging, but together with EON Productions, our developer Eurocom, has pulled it off to create an homage that we think will be a unique and highly entertaining Bond video game."
In addition to the single-player campaign, 007 Legends also packs a meaty multiplayer component, offering four-player split-screen and online play set across a variety of locations plucked from Bond’s illustrious 50-year career.
Mi6 Ops Missions will also make a return from GoldenEye 007: Reloaded, which sees players completing extra objectives in order to net a high leadboard score.
007 Legends is scheduled to ship in fall 2012. Stay tuned to PSU.com for more details.
