Gearbox boss Randy Pitchford has confirmed that not only is Brothers in Arms: Furious 4 still in the works, but the project has “evolved” since its initial announcement last year.
Speculation has mounted that the shooter had been cancelled after a lack of info turned up following its E3 2011 reveal.
However, speaking to CVG, Pitchford revealed that development is progressing smoothly and hopes to talk about the game soon.
“I’m looking forward to being able to talk about Brothers in Arms: Furious 4 soon,” he said. “The game has evolved, I think people are going to be surprised by what they’ll see, and it’s still evolving. One of the reasons why we’re not talking about it now is that it’s evolving and we need to make further changes before we can start talking about it.”
One thing is for sure; Furious 4 will not be released in 2012, though Pitchford said we might hear more about the game in between the release of Borderlands 2 (September 2012) and Aliens: Colonial Marines (February 2013). Don’t expect any chatter on the game between now and September, though.
