Hideo Kojima has shared a few new snippets of info regarding his hotly anticipated horror collaboration with director Guillermo del Toro, Silent Hills.
Speaking during a live stream for Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain (via VG247), Kojima-san revealed that the initials ‘P.T.’ stand for playable teaser, referring of course to the pant-wetting demo released on PlayStation Network following Silent Hills’ unveiling at Gamescom.
The famed games designer was also surprised by how quick gamers solved the teaser, figuring it would take at least a week to crack it.
Most importantly, Kojima-san revealed that the team is looking to make a title that will make consumers “sh*t their pants.” In fact, he’s not worried that people will avoid the game because it’s too scary; he just wants to make the scariest game possible.
Silent Hills is being powered by the Fox Engine and is in development for PlayStation 4, though presumably it’ll wind up on other formats, too. The game will star Norman Reedus, best known to millions worldwide as Daryl Dixon from The Walking Dead TV series.
Stay tuned to PSU for more details. In the meantime, check out our feature on the teaser to see if you missed anything crucial from the demo.
