Normal service appears to be slowly resuming to PlayStation Network following an alleged cyber-attack by hacking team, Lizard Squad, last night.
The PlayStation Network was down for thousands of users last night with online-only games like Destiny inaccessible.
Lizard Squad laid claim to the PlayStation Network issues just after midnight GMT when they posted the following message to its Twitter account.

PlayStation sent a Tweet out around 2am GMT to inform users that it was investigating issues with the Network.

As of 7am GMT it appears most users are now back online and normal service has resumed.
The cyber-attack follows similar issues for Xbox Live, which Lizard Squad claim it has taken offline twice already this year. The group says that it plans another attack on Xbox Live on Christmas day.
“"On December 25 aka Christmas, we will tap in to Microsoft and shut down Xbox Live, FOREVER! So enjoy it while it lasts. – Lizard Squad”
