Electronic Arts has announced a full reboot of the Need for Speed franchise for PlayStation 4, PC and Xbox One.
In development at Ghost Games, Need for Speed will run on the same version of the Frostbite engine as the upcoming Star Wars Battlefront, and is said to be full reboot of the long-running racing series.
“Need for Speed is one of the most iconic names in gaming, and we’re returning it to greatness in this reboot,” said Ghost Games’ Executive Producer, Marcus Nilsson.
“Pulling on our 20 years of history, and then taking a year out from releasing a game, we are making the game we’ve always wanted to. We’re listening to the fans and delivering an experience that will capture their imagination and unleash their passion for cars and speed.”
EA confirmed that a full reveal of the game will take place next month, most likely at E3. For now, check out the official teaser trailer below.
