BioShock franchise sales hit 25m, series is ‘really important’ says Take-Two

Take-Two boss Strauss Zelnick has revealed that the BioShock franchise has sold 25 million units worldwide.

Speaking at the Technology, Media & Telecom Conference in New York this week (via GameSpot), Zelnick described the first-person shooter series as "really important" for publisher 2K, despite the fact a new game has yet to be confirmed.

He also revealed that the most recent entry, BioShock: Infinite, has sold over 11 million copies globally since its launch in March 2013.

It’s a really important intellectual property for the company,” he said. “And while I don’t have any announcements to make, yes, it’s a really important franchise for us.”
