Well, it seems as if things are moving along a little faster than initially anticipated.
No sooner after Capcom’s Research & Development department asked fans for an ‘honest and frank’ opinion on a potential remake of Resident Evil 2 is there now what looks to be the first concept image of the game which has been submitted to the head honchos over at the Japanese studio for approval.
And it turns out that basic concept was floated about just after Resident Evil HD Remaster’s development had ceased, and we only presume that the game’s subsequent success – becoming the fastest-selling digital game on PlayStation Network of all time – only served to solidify the opinion that a remake is a smart way to go about things.
Alongside the image, ‘H’ from Capcom addressed survival horror fans on Resident Evil’s official Facebook page by saying that he had begun putting basic ideas together for the ”RE2 Project” and had already meet with his boss to present the basic outline some months ago.
We’re not out of the woods just yet, but it’s looking more and more likely.
