Final Fantasy XV’s character design is ‘more grounded in reality’

Final Fantasy XV Game Director, Hajime Tabata, confirmed that the character design in the upcoming PlayStation 4 and Xbox One JRPG will be more "grounded in reality."

Speaking with NovaCrystallis at Gamescom 2015, Tabata-san was quizzed as to why the characters in the most recent footage are all dressed in black.

In responce, he said that the team wanted to feature more realistic character designs, and that "real clothing designs" will be included in the JRPG.

Elsewhere, Tabata-san confirmed that the recent trailer was comprised entirely of "in-game" footage, and that it should give players an idea of the direction Final Fantasy XV is taking.

Sadly, he wasn’t able to confirm a release date for the game, although we know that the title is scheduled to ship in 2016.
