The chances of it happening across the board may be slim to none, but at least CD Projekt RED has set a shining example with its multiple FREE DLC packs for the Witcher 3: Wild Hunt.
Marcin Iwiński, co-founder and CEO of CD Projekt Red has now said that he’d like to see free DLC as an industry standard “rather than an exception to the general rule”. “I hope Witcher 3: Wild Hunt has set a good example,” he said in a recent press statement.
We’re pretty sure his remarks will fall on deaf ears as the major publishers continue to milk their franchises for every penny they can get, but the sentiment is a good one at least.
The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt launched in May on PS4. The 16th piece of free DLC for the crticially-acclaimed RPG was released earlier this week and included a New Game Plus mode for experienced players which makes enemies stronger.
