Destiny: The Taken King Raid to receive hard mode in time for Halloween

Bungie has confirmed plans to complement Destiny: The Taken King’s ‘King’s Fall‘ Raid with a harder difficulty setting this Halloween.

Hard mode will launch on October 27, slightly earlier than its original planned release on October 30. Those of you who have already conquered the new Raid and fancy an extra challenge will no doubt want to take part in this difficulty setting, much like The Dark Below’s Raid was also supplemented with an extra difficulty setting not long after its release.

According to Bungie’s latest update, hard mode will go live at 10.00 am PST on October 27. In terms of recommended Light Level, you’ll want to be in the 300-320 range, with rewards dropping in the 310-320 category. If you haven’t already had a crack at King’s Fall you should probably do so now; it’s a fantastic Raid ripe with loot drops, and by now you should have reached the recommended Light Level of 290 to get together a fireteam and give it a shot.

Destiny: The Taken King was released on September 15 for PlayStation 4, PlayStation 3, Xbox One, and Xbox 360 platforms, topping the U.K. All Format Charts upon launch. In addition, the expansion also became PlayStation’s biggest downloaded day-one title of all time.  The game introduces a number of changes to the existing Destiny formula, including a third subclass for Guardians and tweaking the levelling system so that you now have to earn EXP to increase your level, while Light Level governs your strength and other attributes.
