Kicking off the show proper, Sony and Square Enix showed off the first new footage from Final Fantasy VII Remake since the original unveiling of the project back at E3 2015.
In addition to showing off a whole bunch of CG cutscenes, all of which look hugely faithful to the original look of the game, Square Enix left the audience agape with the first gameplay footage from the title and it didn't disappoint in the slightest.
Viewed from a roaming third-person perspective, the gameplay showcased Cloud and company running about Midgar and the Mako Reactor attacking Shinra Soldiers and the Guard Scorpion in real-time.
If anything, it closely resembled Final Fantasy XV's real-time combat system which considering the development timescales in play, would make sense if Square-Enix wanted to release the game anytime before the year 2020.
Anyway, enough of the waffle, check out the trailer below and salivate away.
