Ah, this is some good news for the holidays isn’t it?

You see Square-Enix has, via long-running Japanese publication Famitsu, confirmed that the scenario for the first part of Final Fantasy VII Remake is now complete. Huzzah!

Of course you’ll no doubt recall that Final Fantasy VII Remake is being split up into multiple instalments in order to properly facilitate the vision that the Japanese publisher/developer has for the game. If you’re after some more in-depth discussion on the decision to go episodic, the PSU crew had a good old chat about this at length on a recent PlayStation Fix podcast that you can listen to here.

So yeah, things are progressing pretty nicely all things told. In fact, everything is bumbling along at such a surprisingly brisk pace that it might be that the first episode of Final Fantasy VII Remake could conceivably land sometime in the later half of 2017.

Oh and a demo of that first episode being packaged in with next year’s Final Fantasy XV doesn’t seem totally ridiculous either.
