Bandai Namco Games has released a sizzling batch of Tekken 7 screenshots following the announcement of the latest version of the fighting sequel, ‘Fated Retribution.’
From the look of things, the game is shaping up rather impressively, with character models noticeably improved in comparison to the original version of Tekken 7, which has been doing the rounds in arcades now since March. Pleasingly, series overlord Katsuhiro Harada confirmed that PlayStation 4 owners will be getting the latest version of the game.

Tekken 7 is due out on PS4 at some point in 2016 and will be compatible with Sony’s upcoming PlayStation VR headset. The game is said to bring about the conclusion to the Mishima family feud, which involves long time characters Kazuya, Heihachi, and Jin. Kazumi Mishima, the wife of Heihachi and mother to Kazuya, also features in the sequel, which is the character’s first appearance in a Tekken game to date.
New to the table this time around includes the ‘Tail Spin’ manoeuvre, which allows you to send an opponent flying into the air and follow up with a juggle before they hit the deck; it’s basically Tekken 7’s own take on the ‘Bound’ feature seen in Tekken 6. In addition, Namco’s also given characters the ability to unleash powerful Rage Art techniques, which deal considerable damage to your opponent if timed correctly.
Tekken has a long-standing history with PlayStation, having launched with the PSOne back in 1995 and following with two successful sequels with Tekken 2 and Tekken 3 in 1996 and 1998, respectively. Tekken 3 remains one of the biggest-selling PlayStation games of all time and is second only to Super Smash Bros. Melee as the best-selling fighting video game ever released. The franchise continued into the PS2 era with Tekken Tag, Tekken 4, and Tekken 5 before making the jump to PS3 and multiplatform territory with Tekken 6 and Tekken Tag Tournament 2. The series has sold over 50 million units worldwide to date.
