Tekken series producer Katsuhiro Harada has offered his thoughts on how much PlayStation VR should cost when it hits stores in the first half of 2016.
Writing on Twitter, Harada-san made it clear he thinks the PlayStation 4 virtual reality headset should retail for a cheaper price than Oculus Rift, which was announced earlier this week to cost $599 when it ships in March.
I hope so. RT @YeezyDude PS VR shouldn’t be more than 300-400 dollars though 🙂

Tekken 7 is among the various third-party games that will utilise PS VR, with the PS4 version of the upcoming fighting game set to be the most complete edition to date. The game is currently available in arcades in Japan, and is expected to hit consoles at some point in 2016. Tekken 7 will feature a number of new characters and techniques, and is set to conclude the long-running Mishima family feud between Kazuya and Heihachi.
PlayStation VR has yet to attract a price, although Sony has previously commented that the device will be positioned similar to that of a new games console. The headset will be powered by an external processing unit that is roughly the same size as a Nintendo Wii, and currently has more than 100 games in the pipeline from first and third-party developers alike.
PlayStation VR was originally unveiled at GDC 2014 and was known under the working title of Project Morpheus. Sony has already confirmed that games such as Ace Combat 7, Dreams, Gran Turismo Sport, and Until Dawn: Rush of Blood will be compatible with the device.
