Bungie has unveiled a slew of Destiny stats for your consumption, specifically catering to the shared-world shooter’s Sparrow Racing League, which ran for a few weeks during the latter part of 2015.
To kick things off, the former Halo developer confirmed that only three percent of racers managed to hit 90 percent of gates during a match, with one percent failing to kill a single enemy during a race.
The average kill count during a race stands at 22, while gate accuracy rounds out at about 83 percent. Elsewhere, Bungie revealed that Sparrow racers crashed 100 times more frequently than drivers in the United States. The biggest revelation however is that a total of 92,839,875 gallons of fuel was consumed during the event.
The Sparrow Racing League is among the first of Bungie’s event-based content drops for Destiny, which look set to replace the traditional expansion-based model for the foreseeable future. Destiny is set to receive a major event later this year, which is said to be the most significant update since The Taken King back in September 2015.
Destiny was released in September 2014 for PS4, PS3, Xbox One, and Xbox 360 and has received three major expansions to date: The Dark Below (December 2014), House of Wolves (May 2015), and the aforementioned Taken King last fall. The game’s servers are still reset on a weekly basis to add new challenges, such as mixing up the Nightfall, Prison of Elders, and Court of Oryx events.
In addition, players are able to purchase new exotic gear from Xur, Agent of the Nine, who shows up in the tower or reef every Friday for a couple of days. The Taken King changed things up somewhat, with the removal of the Weekly Heroic Strike, which in turn removed the ability to guarantee your weekly nine Strange Coin drop. Xur’s stock was also given a revamp, and he now flogs Legacy Engrams.
