If you just can’t wait for a slice of Tom Clancy action, then there’s an easy way to guarantee access into the upcoming The Division PS4 beta, which begins on January 29.
Beta access is currently restricted to those who preorder Ubisoft’s third-person shooter, but there’s a way to bypass paying for the game in advance which allows you to download the files you need to participate in the three-day beta session.
This apparently works with a UK PSN account (verified by numerous trusted sources), but PSU does not make any guarantees.
How to play The Division PS4 beta for free
Step 1: Sign-in to your PSN UK account.
Step 2: Go to the PlayStation Store and preorder The Division.
Step 3: Click Preorder and Pay Now (note: The Division isn’t released until March so no money is taken).
Step 4: Search for The Division in the Store and you’ll now see The Division Beta.
Step 5: Download The Division Beta.
Step 6: Cancel The Division preorder.
- Go to Settings > Account Information
- Click on Wallet > Transaction History
- Find the transaction for The Division preorder and click Cancel
If you cannot find the option to cancel via the PS4, then sign-in via the web-based portal.
