The Middle-Eastern arm of PlayStation has posted up a mock ‘Wanted’ poster featuring 90s platform and former unofficial Sony mascot, Crash Bandicoot.
The crate-smashing marsupial appears in a Tweet by the format holder with the text ‘Most wanted person…where are you Crash?’ accompanied by a mug shot of the iconic Naughty Dog character, who was Sony’s answer to Mario in PSOne’s early years.

Crash Bandicoot has been teased a few times by Sony in the past, mostly recently by Sony Computer Entertainment America’s Shawn Layden, who appeared during the company’s press conference at PSX 2015 wearing a Crash t-shirt. While this fueled hope of a revival of the character, it wasn’t anything more than just…well, Layden wearing a t-shirt.
The original Crash Bandicoot turned up in 1996, just a year after the PlayStation was launched in the U.S. and Europe. The game spawned two sequels, 1997’s Crash Bandicoot 2: Crotex Strikes Back and 1998’s Crash Bandicoot: Warped, plus the spin-off Crash Team Racing before Naughty Dog moved from the series.
Crash then moved into multiplatform territory under Traveller’s Tales with Crash Bandicoot: The Wrath of Cortex, with the last mainline entry in the franchise arriving in 2008 with Crash: Mind over Mutant. The series has sold over 50 million copies worldwide to date, although the future of Crash remains very much up in the air at this point.
