The Division becomes Ubisoft’s fastest-selling video game to date

Tom Clancy’s The Division has officially become Ubisoft’s fastest-selling video game of all time, the publishing giant has announced.

The third-person shooter-RPG hybrid released worldwide on Tuesday, March 8 for PlayStation 4, PC and Xbox One, selling more copies in 24 hours than any previous title in the company’s history, and beating former record holder Watch_Dogs in the process.

If that wasn’t enough, the game also set a new record for Ubisoft in regards to single-day digital sales.

"The launch of The Division is a tremendous achievement for Ubisoft, and demonstrates our unrivalled capacity to create fantastic new game brands and transform them into entertainment blockbusters," commented Ubisoft’s CEO and co-founder, Yves Guillemot. "This is a momentous day for Ubisoft, but more importantly it marks the start of millions of players’ enduring engagement in The Division’s game world, which we are confident they will love."
