New Uncharted 4 screens depict action-packed combat and amazing visuals

A stunning collection of new Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End screenshots have leaked onto the web today for your viewing pleasure.

This latest batch focuses on one of the many action set pieces in the hotly anticipated PlayStation 4 sequel, and sees hero Nathan Drake running and gunning his way through legions of bad guys while dodging an explosive death.

When the action has died down we’re also treated to a rather sumptuous vista alongside Nate’s brother, Sam, who also pops up in the action-packed scenes to aid his treasure-hunting sibling.

Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End is due out on May 10, 2016. The game takes place a few years after the events of its predecessor, with Nate now having settled into a comfortable life with his wife, Elena. However, the fortune hunter is soon catapulted on a new globetrotting adventure after being reunited with his brother, with the duo embarking on a hunt for a legendary pirate treasure.

Naughty Dog has confirmed a number of improvements to the formula with Nate’s final outing, including larger environments, new stealth mechanics and enhanced brawling for close encounters. The multiplayer has also been spruced up to include AI-controlled companions and mystical items to wield against opponents.

Uncharted 4 will be the final game to feature Nathan Drake, with the future of the series remaining ambiguous for the time being. However, Naughty Dog has confirmed that it has at least one more title in the pipeline for PS4—could a sequel to The Last of Us be on the cards? We’ll have to wait and see.
