2K Games Snaps Up Elite3D & Turia Games, 2nd Office Formed For 31st Union As It Works On New IP

2K Games has announced that it has acquired elite3D, a company dedicated to innovating in 2D and 3D artwork for video games, as well as Turia Games, which is co-owned by founders of elite3D.

Elite3D is based in Valencia, Spain, and will form a second office for fellow 2K-owned studio 31st Union, as well as establishing a new 2K publishing location to focus on its Global Services division. 31st Union is helmed by Michael Condrey, and is currently working on an unannounced AAA game. The new Valencia office complement development of this project at the company’s headquarters in San Mateo.

President 2K boss David Ismailer commented:

Additional employees at elite3D will form a new location for 2K’s Global Services division, aiding the company to further extend its global reach and support its expanding portfolio. As a result, they will join internal teams at 2K working on animation, art, motion capture, project management, game technology, talent casting, visual effects, and more.
