Rather than focusing on a Hall of Fame or older wrestler as previous WWE 2K collector’s editions have tended to do, this year 2K have instead shifted the focus to the upcoming talent that has been bursting forth from their developmental NXT show.
Set to retail for $100, the WWE 2K17 NXT Edition will encompass a number of different collectible physical items and digital extras. In addition to a trio of playable NXT wrestlers that includes Apollo Crews, Nia Jax and current sensation Shinsuke Nakamura, this edition of the game will also provide an extra boost in the form of 50 percent additional points to be used in WWE 2K17’s MyCareer mode.
In regards to the physical items, folks who dish out the cash will get:
- Canvas 2 Canvas lithograph by artist Rob Schamberger and signed by Shinsuke Nakamura
- Eight-inch Demon Finn Bálor figurine
- Tops NXT TakeOver: London Mat Relics Card that includes a piece of ring canvas from the event and features one of fourteen different superstars that participated (cards will have one of ten different rarity levels)
Naturally this is in addition to the Goldberg pack that will be available to pre-order customers and enables folks to play as both the WCW and WWE versions of the star, in addition to being able to wrestle in the WCW Monday Nitro and Halloween Havoc arenas.
WWE 2K17 will be available October 11 for PS4 and PS3 and while we’ve yet to see any gameplay from the highly anticipated title, we expect that’ll change soon given how little time remains between now and release.
