2K has unleashed the official E3 2016 gameplay reveal trailer for Mafia III, offering around twenty minutes worth of gory footage from the upcoming mobster sequel.
The video offers a look at the sprawling game world and how to expand your criminal empire, which naturally leads to a series of particularly gruesome firefights with local gangsters. There’s also plenty of sneaking around, which seems to indicate that stealth will play a vital role to boot.

Mafia 3 brings authentic 1960s gangster action to PS4 this fall
Developed by Hangar 13, Mafia III takes place in 1968 in the fictionalised New Bordeaux, which serves as the game’s unique interpretation of New Orleans. Players control Lincoln Clay, a Vietnam veteran who returns home and promptly joins up with the black mob, only to barely survive an attempt on his life by Italian gangsters.
Seeking revenge, Clay seeks to establish his own criminal empire to wage war against the Italian mobsters, aided by three allies: Cassandra, Burke and Vito Scaletta. Over the course of the game, players will be able to explore the open-world of New Bordeaux as they build their empire by eliminating rival strongholds and interrogating enemy gang members.
Mafia III is due out on PlayStation 4, PC and Xbox One on October 7, 2016.
