Following a vote by fans of the FIFA community, FIFA 17’s cover star has now been revealed as German International and Borussia Dortmund footballer, Marco Reus.
Reus beat off the challenge from other possible cover stars, Hazard, Martial and Rodriguez, and replaces last year’s cover star, Lionel Messi, on this year’s FIFA 17 box art. Over three million fans of EA’s football game voted.
"I’m honoured to join a very distinguished group of footballers to appear on the cover of FIFA," Reus said in a press statement.
"Most of all I am humbled that the fans have chosen me, and I will strive to make them proud with my performance on the pitch."
Reacting to the announcement, Reus took to Twitter to express his delight and show-off the Xbox One cover.
