Those of you who are interesting in taking the World War One-based shooter for a spin ahead of launch will just need to pop over to the PlayStation Store and download the beta client. Note that you’ll need 6.1GB space to grab it.

It isn’t yet known when the beta period will come to an end, although it has been suggested it will run until September 8, which is next Thursday. The Battlefield 1 beta will give players access to the Sinai Desert map, plus two game modes: Conquest and Rush.

Battlefield 1 is scheduled for release on PS4, PC, and Xbox One on October 21. The game takes place during the events of the Great War, and allows players to engage in multiple combat scenarios, spanning infantry, air, ship, and horseback.

Players will gain access to a variety of authentic WWI weaponry, including pistols, bolt-action rifles, and shotguns, and more, and take part in large-scale multiplayer battles plus a dedicated single-player campaign.
