While Rockstar has yet to announce the long-rumored Red Dead Redemption 2, it has today made available the original game in the series, Red Dead Revolver, for the PlayStation 4 as a PS2 Classic to download.
According to a thread on NeoGAF, the game is currently available to download from the Australian PlayStation Store, so presumably it’ll be rolled out to other territories later today. The game file weighs in at 2.76GB.
Red Dead Revolver was originally released on the PlayStation 2 and Xbox back in 2004, although it wasn’t quite the runaway success both critically and commercially that its spiritual successor, Red Dead Redemption, proved some six years later.

Released back in May 2010, Red Dead Redemption garnered huge acclaim and went on to scoop numerous Game of the Year Awards from various publications. The western adventure eventually sold over 14 million copies worldwide across PS3 and Xbox 360, and spawned the expansion pack, Undead Nightmare.
Rockstar is reported to be working on Red Dead Redemption HD for PS4 and Xbox One, although nothing official has been announced as of yet.
Red Dead Redemption 2 is only a matter of time
Rumors of a sequel have been doing the rounds for a couple of years now, although Rockstar has insisted that a new entry in the franchise is down to a matter of timing. In recent months, the purported game map for Red Dead Redemption 2 leaked online, and it was suggested the title may even be revealed at Gamescom—that failed to happen, obviously.
Despite this, Take-Two continues to fuel hope for a new game after confirming that Rockstar is busy working on various new projects, which will supposedly be unveiled soon.
