Tarsier Studios’ Little Nightmares for PlayStation 4 looks fantastic. Announced a couple of months ago by publisher Bandai Namco, the new trailer for the surreal puzzle-platformer, which features swinging on sausages and running from things that go bump in the night, gives us the first official look at gameplay.
Little Nightmares takes place in a location called The Maw, which Tarsier describes as “a strange kind of dollhouse where your most primal fears are brought to life and twisted by the minds of our Art Department!”
You play a six-year old child who is stuck in an unimaginably horrible place, and it’s your job to get her out! Though Tarsier has made a name for itself with kid-friendly games like LittleBigPlanet and Tearaway Unfolded, Little Nightmares has had a “16” rating slapped on it.
“If we’ve done our job well, you’ll be spending as much time happily climbing around and solving puzzles, as well as being scared out of your wits by The Chef and his lovely chums!,” said the studio on the official blog.
A release date for Little Nightmares has yet to be confirmed, though a release window has been set down for Spring 2017.
