Mass Effect Andromeda won’t feature all races from the original trilogy

The upcoming Mass Effect Andromeda won’t feature all the alien races featured in the original, critically acclaimed sci-fi RPG trilogy, its creative director has revealed.

Speaking to Game Informer, Mac Walters said that the series has been designed so that they’ll show up eventually, but don’t expect an all-star galactic cast for Andromeda.

We’ve designed the IP in such a way that they can all show up. For hopefully obvious reasons, they’re not all going to show up in the first game,” said Walters.

Mass Effect Andromeda gameplay coming next week

This info is the latest in a landslide of new details on the hotly anticipated title, with BioWare previously revealing details on Mass Effect Andromeda’s side quests, as well as confirming that the game’s new Normandy-style ship, the Tempest, won’t feature any intrusive loading screens while your character is on board

In addition, the developer also delved into Andromeda’s core themes, and confirmed that new gameplay on the epic space adventure will be revealed during the Game Awards next Thursday, December 1.

Mass Effect Andromeda is due out for PlayStation 4, PC, and Xbox One in Q1 2017. The game takes place some 600 years after the events of the Reaper invasion depicted in the original trilogy, and sees gamers controlling newcomer Ryder as they explore the Andromeda galaxy in hopes of finding new stomping ground for the human race.
